Streching

Stretching is a form of physical exercise in which a specific skeletal muscle (or muscle group) is deliberately elongated to its fullest length (often by abduction from the torso) in order to improve the muscle's felt elasticity and reaffirm comfortable muscle tone.

Why do we stretch?
• Because our muscles become somewhat cramped and the body sends signals to the brain telling it that the body is becoming stiff and blood isn't going out so well, and the result is stretching.

• Stretching also just keeps the body awake and is part of the waking up process if you have been sleeping.

Stretching is also believed to help to prevent injury to tendons, ligaments and muscles by improving muscular elasticity and reducing the stretch reflex in greater ranges of motion that might cause injury to tissue.

Here something to convince yourself:

Why do we enjoy doing sports?

It is said that sport is the way in which your body can be kept healthy and full of life. Making sport not only puts your muscles in movement, but also releases yourself from a big quantity of stress. It is good at least once a day to have time to do sport. It’s not necessary to go to a gym, you can just go for a ride with your bike or jogging. In this way you can make two things at the same time and that is to combine useful things with pleasure. Sport helps you develop your body harmoniously, keep you in good health and shape and develop abillites like attention, speed, reaction or imagination. Sport also gives us a satisfying and enjoyable way to develop our own talents and teaches us about the process of how to improve and work more effectively. Through personal effort we become good at something we are interested in and doing something well makes us feel good about ourselves.Sports allow us to clear our minds and concentrate better. In conclusion, if you want to be healthy, you have to eat properly and none of the less make a little sport.

Some of the benefits of practicing a sport:
 Stress relief :

- sports allow us to clear our minds of academic and social pressures;
- they literally run off the tension that is accumulated in our muscles;
- if I play really hard, I feel better because playing takes my mind off things that bother me;
- and afterwards I can concentrate better;

 Skillfulness or mastery :

- sports give us a satisfying, enjoyable way to develop our own talents;
- through personal effort we get good at something we are interested in;
- and doing something well makes us feel good about ourselves;
- but equally important, sport teaches us about the process of how to improve and work more effectively;

 Health habits :

- sports increase an awareness of my body and how it responds to different stimuli and circumstances;
- because of this, sports help prevent drug and alcohol abuse;
- the person who does sport values what his/her own body can do and want to maintain those abilities;
